Welcome to my website of all things Sound
AWA Radiolette Black and green fret and foot bakelite radio
My interest in sound started during my school days, building simple Crystal sets & getting them to work using the School wire fence for an aerial & a wire stake in the ground for an earth.
AWA Empire State radio 'The Fisk Radiola'
I then progressed to building 1 valve sets & amplifiers, eventually leaving school to work at the local Radio Shop in my town. I developed a special interest in Sound, Tape recording, Microphones, Speakers, in particular Vintage loudspeakers.
STC Model-508-Standard Telephones & Cables Sydney-1939
I worked in Radio Servicing for a number of years, then when Television started, learnt to install and service TV receivers, at first Black & White sets, then colour. Gained a lot of knowledge about television aerials, sometimes we had to mount them on tall towers to get a signal in the areas we did the installations.
